A MAJOR Shoe Store Is Closing In The U.S.
If your snow boots have taken a beating this season, you might need to find a new place to purchase a replacement pair; Payless ShoeSource is shutting down!
I'll admit, my jaw actually dropped when I heard the news. I've gotten shoes there many a times, and it was always nice to not have to spend a small fortune. According to KWQC, the closures are happening as a result of bankruptcy.
The saddest part is that it's not just a few stores in each market. Payless is actually closing every single one of its 2,300 stores later this month. Per the report, this is the second time in two years that the retailer has had to file for bankruptcy.
The small upside – at least for customers – is that this means some crazy sales are coming. Reports indicate that the company is planning going-out-of-business sales at its shops in the next week.
There are three Payless ShoeSource stores in the Quad Cities Area located in Davenport, Clinton and Moline.
