Put on your yoga pants and get ready to help out a local charity later this month.

Bends and Brews will host Bends for a Cause on Sunday, July 17th from 12:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Village Theatre in the Village of East Davenport.

There will be a community yoga class but you don't have to take part in it if you don't want to. There will also be live music, food, drinks, a silent auction, and a raffle.

The event will benefit two local organizations: The Minnie Fridge & Nest Cafe.

The Minnie Fridge is a community fridge on Minnie Ave. in Davenport. You can take what food you need and leave what food you don't. They take food donations of all kinds but also monetary donations to help with buying food and the upkeep of the fridge. Its goal is to offer fresh food in a neighborhood that doesn't have access to fresh, healthy foods. It's a successful model, so other places around the community are looking to bring it in too.

Nest Cafe ('Nourish Everyone Sustainably Together') is a pay-what-you-can nonprofit restaurant in downtown Rock Island. Up until this year, they have been food truck-style but now they have a brick-and-mortar home. Their focus is healthy, sustainable meals that everyone can enjoy.

Your admission to the fundraiser is a monetary or food donation for one or both of the organizations.

Bends and Brews is a yoga and beer class that's held at different breweries around the Quad Cities.
