New Bettendorf, Davenport Road Projects To Send You On Fun Little Detours
Hope you're having a happy road construction season!
There's certainly no shortage of road construction we've had to avoid. Locust Street in Davenport, for example, has been a bumpy zoo for months. And it's about to get worse.
First thing to know: the city of Bettendorf is working on a road resurfacing project that started today (May 26th).
Crews are working on Central Ave. The intersection of Central & 23rd Street will be closed.
Of course there are detours in place, so here's what to know for the detour on 23rd: It will use 18th Street to the west, State and Grant Streets to the south, and Lincoln Road to the north.
And then the detour for Central: 21st Street to the west, also State and Grant Streets to the south, and 27th Street.
You're gonna be dealing with this for 2 weeks so not bad, it could be worse.
After work on that intersection is done, crews will move east and work on 25th Street to Plus Lane.
Bettendorf says they'll release a start date on that as crews wrap up this intersection project.
As for the daily lane closures on State Street, the 1st phase of that project is expected to be done by July 3rd, then the 2nd phase will start after Bettendorf's 4th of July parade.
You can keep up with the pieces of road construction on Bettendorf's map.
You Really Thought They're Done With Locust Street?
Oh no sweet summer child, the work on Locust Street continues. For a couple of weeks sewer repairs will be going on between Marlo and Pineacre Avenues.
Eastbound traffic on Locust will be to one lane. Westbound traffic will be shut down.
But luckily, that's only for a couple of weeks, until June 15th.
