Eastern Iowa Oktoberfest To Feature Wineries, Breweries, & More
When you think of the fall season, you think probably think about football, chili, haunted houses, and cooler weather. It might slip your mind that the fall season also includes Oktoberfest celebrations.
This fun and unique Oktoberfest celebration in an Eastern Iowa town not only celebrates German heritage with steins of beer and Bavarian food, but the wine will be flowing too.
Mark your calendars for the annual Brew Up Wine Down Oktoberfest in Eldridge this September. Make sure you work on your polka dancing skills, too. You'll need them.
Brew Up Wine Down Oktoberfest Returns To Eldridge
The Eldridge-North Scott Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the return of Brew Up Wine Down on September 16, 2023, from 6:00-9:00 pm. This popular beer/wine/spirit-tasting event will take place in the 200 block of 2nd Street in the heart of downtown Eldridge, and once again features an Oktoberfest theme.
The Chamber has secured several vendors who will be offering samples of their locally/regionally-made products. There will be a variety of adult beverages including craft beers, hard ciders, wines and spirits, and more to come. Already committed to participating in the event are:
- 7G Distributing
- Ardon Creek Vineyards
- Ackerman Fireside
- Backpocket Brewing
- Bridgehouse Cider
- Cat’s Eye Distillery
- Double Barrel Drinkery
- Front Street Brewery
- Knee High Distillery
- Okoboji Wines
- Twin Span Brewing
- TLC Brew Works
Even more vendors are confirming their participation weekly. Many of these businesses will also offer to-go sales of their products and merchandise.
To complement the Oktoberfest theme of this year’s event, the DJ will be providing party music (a bit heavy on the polka side). Downtown Eldridge eateries will be selling food outside:
- Bavarian pretzel sticks with beer cheese from Maloney’s Pub
- Bratwursts from Al & Gerry’s Tap
- Apple strudel from Eastern Iowa Baking Co.
The Chamber will be hosting some fun, Oktoberfest-themed contests during the evening.
Brew Up Wine Down is for adults 21+. Tickets are available at www.northscottchamber.com and in-person at North Scott Hy-Vee and Men-tality Barbershop in Eldridge. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the gates and include a commemorative tasting glass and pretzel necklace.
In an effort to encourage attendees to drink responsibly, the Chamber will be offering a “Designated Driver” ticket for a $5 donation that includes free non-alcoholic beverages at the event.
No children or pets are allowed at Brew Up Wine Down. The event will take place rain or shine.
