Christmas Has Come To Downtown Moline And I Don’t Know How To Feel About It
Well, I guess it's that time of year again...
Christmas? Not quite. Thanksgiving? Almost. Post-Halloween no man's land where we're not sure if pumpkins are still acceptable decor or if we should be getting the ornaments and tinsel out? Definitely.
But, according to downtown Moline, Christmas is here, folks.
I was a little bit weirded out when I saw this Instagram photo from Visit Quad Cities:
Yes, I know, Christmas is next month, but I'm one of those people that typically waits until after Thanksgiving to start my holly jolly decorating. I guess the city of Moline does not feel the same way. They are raring to go with Christmas Spirit. And that's okay; there are plenty of people out there that will be thrilled to see this sight. I'm just not one of them yet.
Maybe it's the freezing weather that's making everyone Christmas crazy, or maybe it's that stores seem to be rolling out holiday merchandise earlier every year, but all I know is...I am not ready. You will not see me lining up to bask in the glory of the Moline Christmas tree until at least the first week of December.
How do you feel? Are you blasting the Christmas jams and lighting all the holiday candles already? Or are you a little bit more bah-humbug, like me?
