You Can Name A Cockroach After Your Ex For Valentine’s At Illinois Zoo
Happy Valentine's Day my fellow bitter friends.
Valentine's Day has become a reason to celebrate being single. There's just so much red and pink stuff and romance is in the air like the flu.
But one thing that can fill the void in our cold, dark hearts is getting a bit of satisfying karma against your ex, whether it's a failed situationship, a pathological liar, or that one ex that just works your nerve.
Brookfield Zoo in Chicago is letting you name a Madagascar hissing cockroach after your ex, just in time for Valentine's Day.
Through February 14th, Brookfield Zoo's popular "Name A Cockroach" program is back. For a $15 donation to the zoo, you can symbolically name a cockroach. You'll get a naming certificate to remind you why you shouldn't text them.
It doesn't have to necessarily be an ex but as you can see in the video, the nasty things are huge. So ideally, someone who's been a huge cockroach in your life (or also measured 3 inches).
Tim Sullivan, Brookfield Zoo Director of Behavior Husbandry, explained to NBC Chicago that when the cockroach is angry, wants to fight with another male, or wants to find a mate, it makes different kinds of hissing sounds to communicate that. The females have little horns on their heads, in case your ex was actually the devil.
You can also donate to the zoo in honor of someone special. Or name a cockroach after them, your choice. Here's the Brookfield Zoo link to name a cockroach.
