Could it be a Christmas miracle for Rock Island County Courthouse?

Just in time for Christmas, some new proposals came in that just might save the historic building.

All over Rock Island county, there is signage about saving the courthouse and it's looking more and more like that hope, will become a reality.

According to OurQuadCities.com, there are five proposals on the table to save Rock Island County courthouse, including one from a Florida-based company with impressive plans.

"McCarty Technologies Inc. became the fifth organization to file a proposal to re-purpose and remodel the building.

They plan to turn the building into office space, retail and restaurant and apartments.

In the proposal, MTI said they would turn the third floor into a local office for 50 to 100 employees."

If this particular proposal goes through, it will be at no-cost to taxpayers.
