Mrs. Houston was nominated by her classroom coworker, sign language interpreter Jenna Doran. Jenna said in her nomination:

Jacinda Houston teaches 3rd grade at Wilson Elementary in Davenport. As a sign language interpreter I have worked with many wonderful teachers over the years. However, Mrs. Houston has inspired me to bring my best self into the classroom everyday. Not only is she preparing her students to be ready for the next grade, she is preparing them to be responsible and caring adults. Not one day is ever boring. She thoughtfully fills the day with fun activities, that ignites student’s curiosities and passions. She has this amazing ability to make the most mundane activity interesting. She treats each student with respect and kindness while at the same time keeping it real. She finds every opportunity to apply classroom lessons to real life situations. I feel so lucky to be in her classroom everyday and I have no doubt she has and will continue to positively effect each student that she teaches.

Great job, Mrs. Houston!

For being our QC Teacher of the Week, Mrs. Smith has been rewarded with a B100 Prize Pack including stickers, koozies, and more, plus an awesome cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes and a cup and gift card from Scooter's Coffee!
