Davenport To Host Coffee With A Cop
The Davenport Police Department is inviting members of the community to join them on Thursday, April 22, for 'Coffee with a Cop.' The event will be held at West Locust Hy-Vee at 2351 W Locust St, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
They are hoping to spark a conversation with residents. You and anyone apart of the community is invited for coffee and conversation.
The idea and mission of 'Coffee with a Cop' is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve. This is a national program that offers the opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, and get to know the officers in one's neighborhood.
Sergeant Andrew Harris, Community Impact Team Supervisor stated,
“We want our officers to connect with the residents in our community, “It’s about having conversations and interacting with our neighbors in meaningful ways, outside of a call for service. We want to have a chance to talk about topics that they find interesting or have questions about.”
Hy-Vee will be hosting a total of four 'Coffee with a Cop' events with the Davenport Police Department. The dates and locations for the future events are as followed:
