Fayette County Sheriff Makes Arrests in Separate Cases
Two Northeast Iowa residents face charges in recent incidents in Fayette County.
A report of a suspicious person in Westgate has resulted in the arrest of a Cedar Rapids man. At about 2pm Sunday (Aug. 13) the Fayette County Sheriff received a report of a suspicious man in the city of Westgate. Following an investigation, 31 year old Anthony Beltz of Cedar Rapids was taken into custody on charges of Public Intoxication and Trespassing. He was held in the Fayette County jail until his initial court appearance.
A Waverly woman faces charges in a traffic stop in Fayette County. At about 1am Wednesday, a deputy pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. After an initial investigation, the driver, 21 year old Madison Schaefer of Waverly, was taken into custody for Operating While Intoxicated-1st Offense. Schaefer was held in the Fayette County jail in West Union, pending an appearance before a magistrate.
