Get Rid Of Your Leaves And Grass For Free In Eastern Iowa
If you are in love with your lawn as much as I am, this news makes you excited. Two cities in eastern Iowa have just kicked off their no-sticker yard waste weeks.
If your yard is covered in leaves or you have a few more mows left before the end of the year, it's your chance to save some extra money while getting rid of yard waste.
Iowa Yard Waste Stickers Can Add Up
For those who have trees on their property or neighbors with trees that dump leaves on their lawns this time of year, you know picking up those leaves can be costly.
A yard waste sticker in Davenport and Bettendorf runs $1.60. When you have multiple bags of yard waste from cleaning up leaves before the snow comes, you're wasting a good chunk of change you can spend elsewhere, like on presents for the holidays.
Davenport & Bettendorf Want To Save You Money
To save you money this fall season, the cities of Davenport and Bettendorf are giving homeowners a chance to get rid of those leaves and yard waste for free.
Starting Monday, Oct. 23 through Dec. 1, when you rake those leaves and put grass clippings in the Kraft ply bags, you don't need to worry about getting stickers before trash pickup day.
Simply bag up all that yard waste, put your bags at the curb on your trash day, and don't worry about a thing.
Bettendorf and Davenport residents can also drop off their bagged yard waste at the Davenport Compost Facility for free during this time.
Yard waste cart collection is without a disposal fee during No Sticker Yard Waste Weeks, too.
