Here in the Quad Cities, it was an especially brutal winter for small, local businesses. Getting people to come out seemed to be the biggest struggle.

When it's too cold for people to leave their houses, the key is staying present online and on social media, according to experts.

So, next week, Google is coming to town to offer some help. Googlers (Googlians?) will be at the Davenport public library on Wednesday, April 17 from 9:30 a.m. to  4:30 p.m., offering four different classes, as well as some one-on-one coaching sessions.

Local organizations and business owners can sign up for classes to hone their skills in search engine optimization, upping their overall presence online, keeping track of job postings and toy around with other free resources offered by Google.

Each session is roughly an hour to an hour and 15 minutes long. You can check out the full schedule and details on registration here.
