The Village of East Davenport's Grilled Cheese Bar is looking for your help to come back.

Last weekend, a water main burst outside of the Grilled Cheese Bar, which is on Mound Street in the Village of East Davenport. It caused severe damage to the inside of the business and forced Grilled Cheese Bar to close until further notice.

The pictures that the restaurant posted on Facebook show sand, mud, and water stuck inside.

Grilled Cheese Bar would later announce their closure.

A GoFundMe Has Been Set Up For Grilled Cheese Bar

According to the GoFundMe page created for Grilled Cheese Bar's recovery, their insurance won't cover the damage and the city isn't responsible. The description on the page says that Grilled Cheese Bar was the only building that flooded in the water main break and also says in part:

We just had our 1 year anniversary and we have met so many wonderful people in such a short time. We want to stay here as long as possible.

The fundraising goal on the page is $10,000. If you would like to donate to Grilled Cheese Bar's GoFundMe, you can do that at this link. You can keep up with the latest from Grilled Cheese Bar on their Facebook page here or on their Instagram.

As for the water main, crews have been working to repair it all week. That section by Grilled Cheese Bar, from River Drive to the intersection of Mound Street & 12th, has been closed to allow for the repair.
