I know, it's hard to think about it already being the end of summer.  My kids are pre-bummed already and they don't start school for another 2 weeks.  They're already moping as if summer has passed them by.

If they are depressed now, just wait until they find out we won't have enough Halloween Candy this year!

That's right, candy makers, like Hershey's, say they won't be able to meet the demand for the Halloween season.  So it's possible you'll have to celebrate without the Cookies & Cream Fangs, Vampire Kisses, Reese's Pumpkins, Witch's Brew Kit Kats, or assorted glow-in-the-dark wrapped candy goodness.

CNN says, "Many consumer goods manufacturers have been struggling to meet surging demand for their products during the pandemic, especially with the ongoing supply chain issues. That’s meant that they’ve had to reduce production of certain less popular items or, as in the case of the late, great Choco Taco, cut them altogether.

Hershey is in the same boat."

So, now, I've somehow got to figure out a way to make my kids believe that candy isn't the best part of Halloween.  It's like convincing them Christmas is about being around loved ones and spreading joy...not presents.  Sure, it's all part of it...but it's not what you stay up at night dreaming about.

I even hate to talk about Halloween so early in the year, but Dollar General says it's almost Christmas time, so I better get a head start on everyone's favorite spooky holiday.

So, if you can't find any good candy this year...just dole out a few quarters or apples.  And hope they don't come flying back at your house.
