If you aren't ready for some Hawkeye football, this will surely get you hyped. By the way, shout out to Dalton Conrad, the mastermind behind these videos.
The Iowa Hawkeyes will kick off their 2024 season this Saturday at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City. Some things will look and sound a little different to start the season.
For the first time since November 25th, 1978, the Iowa Hawkeyes will be coached by someone other than Hayden Fry or Kirk Ferentz.
Iowa's head coach Kirk Ferentz and assistant Jon Budmayr will be suspended for a violation related to the recruitment of transfer quarterback Cade McNamara, according to ESPN. The two coaches will miss the August 31st season opener against Illinois State but will return in time for the rivalry game against Iowa State in Week 2.
Cade McNamara committed to Iowa on December 1st, 2022 just three days after entering the portal as a graduate transfer. He started playing for Michigan in 2021 as the team won their Big Ten and made the College Football Playoff, but his season ended when he took a leg injury in the third game of the 2022 season.
New this year is the color commentator on the Iowa Hawkeye Radio Network. The Hawkeyes announced that Bettendorf native and former Iowa Hawkeye Pat Angerer will be joining Gary Dolphin in the booth on Hawkeye Football game days.
