I-80 In Iowa Could Become Toll Road
A report by the Iowa Department of Transportation is suggesting adding tolls to Interstate 80 through Iowa to cover the cost of a $3.8 billion reconstruction project.
The report, shared by KCRG-TV, says an eight-cent-per-mile toll for cars, and twenty-four-cents-per-mile charge for trucks could raise the funds needed to widen and rebuild the entire stretch of I-80 between 2022 and 2026.
Eleven tolls stations would be setup along I-80 through the state.
Do you think tolls are a good idea to pay for roads?
