Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to pick up a puppy in a pet store and just kinda wander away with it? Well some kids from the Rockford area can now say that they've done exactly that.

Police arrested a Machesney Park woman for stealing a puppy from a pet store in the CherryVale Mall called Furry Babies. Security camera footage released by the store show 28-year-old Robyn Kersh and her children entering the store. She then starts to talk to--or rather, distract--a sales person while one of her kids reaches into a pen to pick up a puppy. As the girl is holding the puppy, she begins wandering toward the exit. As soon as she's out of the store, she flat out runs from the store with the puppy in tow.

Police have charged the girl's mother with felony retail theft and have called the Department of Child and Family Services.
