Iowa Is Home To The Most Narcissists In America, According To Stats

Turns out, dating in Iowa really is harder than you thought.

One of the most toxic kinds of people are narcissists and Iowa apparently has no shortage of them.

If you're unaware, narcissist is "a person who has an excessive interest or admiration of themselves", according to Oxford Dictionary. From a lot of our experiences, they have no empathy either.

It's the Bachelorette of the QC here. I'm willing to bet all of us have dated, married, or been related to a narcissist at some point. They can be so charming and manipulative that we don't realize until later that they were actually toxic.

There are several signs that your partner is a narcissist, like they speak loudly, they look over your shoulder when you talk, or they touch their face a lot.

Iowa Is Overflowing With Narcissists

If you're also in the dating pool like me, you know it isn't about finding fish in the sea. It's a swamp. The fish are like cyclops things that probably have a wife back at the reef. So this won't surprise you at all either.

According to Counseling Psychology, Iowa has the 2nd most narcissists in the U.S. The study looked at Google search volume to see how many of us are trying to figure out if our partners are narcissists. One popular search was 'can narcissists change' (lol don't try babe).

Actually, the most toxic narcissist in our lives isn't necessarily our romantic partner.  According to the study, it's moms. That's followed by husbands, boyfriends, wives, partner, dad, friend, girlfriend, sister, and lastly: boss.

Meanwhile, it looks like Hawaii is pretty chilled out with no suspected narcissists so I'll head out there for the summer.
