Most recently, a bill has been created in Indiana that would create a commission for it. It would be the Indiana-Illinois Boundary Adjustment Committee. It would consist of representatives from both states figuring out how to adjust the borders.

What It Could Be

Social media being what it is, everyone's trying to figure out what the Midwest might be. There's a specific map swirling around on what the new border would look like. Mind you, I couldn't find this map confirmed by a reliable news source or in the bill documents. It's unconfirmed (at least in online documents) but it's being shared everywhere (Reddit, Imgur, Facebook, Insta, TikTok, YouTube, et al). So maybe it's what people think it will or should look like?

Whether that map is true or not, the bill to create a committee for Illinois-Indiana Boundary Adjustment did progress in Indiana's legislature this week.

Amendments to the merger were proposed, like letting counties decide if they wanted to leave Indiana and be absorbed into Illinois.

Meanwhile, everyone's so chatty about the map.

The bill actually marks the first time that Indiana House Speaker Todd Huston has proposed a standalone piece of legislation since he took over the House Speaker role. Meanwhile, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker isn't taking it seriously, dismissing it as a "stunt".

Can You Pass The U.S. Citizenship Test?

Many immigrants who want to become citizens of the U.S. have a lot of knowledge they need to know before being granted citizenship. As a naturally born citizen of the U.S., you probably think you know it all, but do you?

During the naturalization interview, a civics test is given. The civics test is an oral test and the USCIS Officer will ask the applicant up to 10 of the many civics questions below. An applicant must answer 6 out of 10 questions correctly to pass the civics portion of the naturalization test. Think you can get at least 60% correct? Let's find out.
