If Koehler Electric has come to your door lately, you might want to be wary. According to KWQC, it's all part of a new scam to gain access to homes.

Per their report, officials with Koehler Electric have been receiving reports of people going door to door posting as employees from the company. In a statement on Koehler's Facebook page, the company made it clear that "We do not solicit door to door and will not ask to enter your home without a previous appointment."

Police have been notified, but Quad Cities residents are being encouraged to continue calling it in if they see it continuing to happen.

In situations like this, it's best not to answer your door at all, unless you are expecting someone. Make it clear you've seen the person at the door, as it might discourage them from trying to enter the house by other means.
