Maybe don't get the zoomies in a 35?

If you're an adult driver who has been on the road for many years by now and you don't know if you're lead foot-prone or not, figure it out ASAP.

My rule of thumb, on any kind of road, is to not go any more than 10mph over whatever the speed limit is. I know, it's still speeding, I get it. But this young driver in LeClaire didn't.

The LeClaire Police posted a driver (a minor) that was stopped on Wisconsin Street in LeClaire that was just slightly over the posted 35mph speed limit.

Yep, that driver was clocked at 108mph in a 35.

Lesson: you gotta watch that speedometer.

It happened on Wisconsin Street (where I always park in LeClaire), which is full of blind hills, dips, and has a bike path along it, as LeClaire police pointed out.

There's no comment in the police department's Facebook as to what charges the driver will face, if any as the driver was a minor. In Iowa, you can expect to pay $135 plus $5 per mph if you're caught going 20mph or more over the speed limit. So that would put this driver at about $500 in fines.

LeClaire police said that the parents weren't too happy about their child's driving and one parent showed up to the scene to ensure the minor wouldn't be driving again.

The police add the advice to the post: "Drive like someone you love is on the road."
