A wild moment was caught on camera at a soccer field.

Our planet can do some crazy stuff and a soccer field in Alton, Illinois got that reminder this week.

According to NBC Chicago, no one was hurt when a giant sinkhole opened up on the field. It swallowed the bleachers where the players would sit, along with a lamppost.

It happened at Gordon Moore Park in Alton on Wednesday and the whole thing was caught on security camera. In the wild video, a cloud of smoke and dirt puffs out as it all crashes down.

It's dramatic. Watch it below and look towards the left top corner of the surveillance video.

It looks like a movie scene, doesn't it? The sinkhole was about 100-feet wide and 30 feet deep.

As you can probably guess, the park is temporarily closed and events are canceled as they investigate the sinkhole.

The sinkhole was caused by an underground mine. New Frontier Materials is the company that owns the mine. They said the area "will remain off limits for the foreseeable future while inspectors and experts examine the mine and conduct repairs."

The mine company also said in a statement:

Safety is our top priority. We will work with the city to remediate this issue as quickly and safely as possible to ensure minimal impact on the community

The sinkhole does leave a mess to clean up but luckily, no one was using the field when the sinkhole opened up and no one was hurt.
