It's worse than 1993.  That is really all that needs to be said as the Mississippi River level has officially risen above the 1993 level.  At 22.64 feet, the reading from the official observation site at the Rock Island Arsenal, it has already beat the 22.63 mark set in '93.  But it's not done yet.

Previous river level records:

  1. 1993 - 22.63 ft.
  2. 1965 - 22.48 ft.
  3. 2001 - 22.33 ft.
  4. 1868 - 22.00 ft.
  5. 2008 - 21.49 ft.
  6. 2014 - 20.90 ft.

Until the river returns to normal levels the full extent of damage won't be known.  However, based on the pictures we all can tell it's not going to be a quick and easy clean up.
