This new business in Davenport isn't your average boutique. It's an ongoing memorial to bring a message of awareness-after-loss to the Quad Cities.

Wind Dancer has a beautiful story attached. I went there today to check it out. I also saw the video (see below) they posted on Facebook about the 'why' behind this business.

At first glance, it's an eccentric boutique with a boho feel, unique, hand-crafted jewelry, woven fabrics, incense, essential oils and some really cute clothes. Once you start walking around a bit and talking to the owner Mhisho Lynch, you'll totally understand what makes this place different.

Mhisho's welcoming smile made me feel welcomed and at-home to browse. Once she and I started talking, she showed me a side room to the shop that is still under construction. She hopes to use it as a place where small groups meet for grief support. It's an admirable mission she has given to her business, all in honor of her late mother, Julieanne "Wind" Kazmierski.

The benefit is across the street at McButt's Bar outside in their courtyard on the Hilltop in Davenport. It includes a raffle for a new air conditioner from Lynch Heating and Plumbing, door prizes and authentic homemade Asian food, live music, door prizes, silent auction and a food truck. It's a great night to support a wonderful new business.
