No Surprise: Wisconsin Is Named The Most Beer-Loving State
There truly is nothing better than coming home after a long day of work on a hot summer day and cracking open a cold beer. I don't care if you like Busch Light or Coors Light, or even seltzer. But a cold alcoholic beverage after dealing with your trash coworkers and managers for 8 hours during the day just really hits the spot.
Living in the Quad Cities, we could sit here all day and argue as to which of our respective states loves beer more than the other, but there is scientific data to put to bed that argument. If you live in Iowa like I do, I hate to break it to you, but Illinois actually loves beer more according to this recent study. It's got a lot to do with the population of Illinois vs. Iowa and people in Illinois apparently search online for beer more than Iowans. Which makes sense because Iowans don't go on the internet to know where the nearest Kwik Star, Casey's, or Hy-Vee is to get a quick 30-rack of Busch Lattes. We're smarter than the internet.
But I will tell you that Wisconsin blows both Iowa and Illinois out of the water when it comes to loving beer, according to innerbody.
The reason that innerbody put Wisconsin at number 1, besides the fact that Google Trends data put it there, is because Milwaukee was named the second-best beer city in America by USAToday. Also, as the state that is home to New Glarus Brewing Company and exclusively only sells Spotted Cow within its state's borders, is also number one in my book.
If you live in Illinois, you should be proud of yourself because Illinois is the second-most beer loving state in America. I don't know where Iowa landed because they only gave the top 5 and bottom 5.
The main thing that innerbody got super incorrect was Iowa's favorite beer. Sure, it's part of the Budweiser family like Busch Light, but Bud Light? Really? Come to a Hawkeye or Iowa State game for 5 minutes. Then find out Iowa's favorite beer.
