This hot weather and the fact that it's summer are great excuses to get Whitey's Ice Cream. But when you can get Whitey's and support a great cause, that's even better.

Whitey's will host the 38th Annual Cones For Kids event on Monday, June 17thHalf of all cone sales will go to benefit Bethany for Children and Families, which is a child welfare, mental health, community education, and social services provider for children and families in western Illinois and eastern Iowa, according to a release from Whitey's.

All Whitey's locations are going to participate in Cones For Kids on Monday. It's important to note-shakes and malts aren't included in the charity donation. Get a cone if you want to help Bethany.

Jeff Tunberg, co-owner of Whitey’s Ice Cream, said in a press release:

Bethany is a fantastic cause and the support shown by the Quad City community has been amazing over the years. We are proud to continue the tradition.

Whitey's locations are open 10:00 a.m.-9:00 p.m. (hours at Eldridge are 12:00 pm-9:00 pm) so you'll have time to stop by before or after work or maybe on your lunch break. Surprise the littles with a cone. You can get more details about the work that Bethany for Children & Families does in the Quad Cities on their Facebook page.

During the month of June, Whitey's is also raising money for the John Deere Classic's Birdies for Charity with their special John Deere Classic Sprite Float.

50¢ of each float will be donated to Birdies for Charity. Thanks for getting ice cream to support those who need help in our community!
