Believe It or Not, Quad Cities Pizza Ranks in Top Pizzas in Iowa
Ever since I started scouting out pizza spots weeks ago, I've been told QC-style pizza isn't great. Yet, there's one local spot that ranks in the top pizza places in Iowa.
According to Travel Iowa, Lopiez Pizza in Davenport has the 10th best pizza in the state, out of 15 rankings. Here's what the website said:
With their made-on-site, hand-tossed pizza dough and unique topping combinations, Lopiez Pizza spices up the Quad Cities pizza scene with their Rock & Roll New York Style pies. Traditionally made as larger, thinner slices that can be folded, locals and visitors alike claim they're just as good as the Big Apple's. If you can't make it to their locations in Davenport, keep your eye out for the Lopiez Alta food truck at local events and businesses, or have it at your own event.
I tried Lopiez at our Beachin' Spring Break party at Analog Moline and loved it. I've never had to fold pizza before. Look at this goodness:
An honorable mention on the list is another Davenport pizzeria: Gunchies. They're no slacker either, look:
I also didn't realize taco pizza was so big here too. By the way, the number one pizza joint on Travel Iowa's list, if you're feeling like/have gas money for a road trip, is A&A Pagliai's Pizza in Iowa City.
Number two on the list is Fong's Pizza in Des Moines (known for their crab rangoon pizza). If you're looking for some new places to try, check out Travel Iowa's list for suggestions!
