Quad Cities To See More Rain Through Saturday, Sunny On Sunday
It's been very wet the past few days in the Quad Cities and we will continue to see rain come down throughout the weekend. The good news? Sunshine returns to wrap up the weekend and to kick off a brand new week.
According to the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities, we are going to have mostly a wet, windy weekend.
Officials say that a strong storm will move through the Quad Cities area late
Friday night which will last through Sunday morning. This storm will bring moderate to heavy rain, strong winds, and cool temperatures. All of those characteristics of this storm will make Saturday not a very nice day.
Even though Saturday will be terrible, weather will be noticeably better on Sunday with highs in the 60's and the sun shining starting in the mid-morning.
Here is your forecast for today through Sunday in the Quad Cities, according to the National Weather Service of the Quad Cities:

- A 50 percent chance of showers, mainly before noon.
- Mostly cloudy, with a high near 62.
- Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
- New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

- A 30 percent chance of rain after 4am.
- Increasing clouds, with a low around 48.
- West wind around 5 mph becoming north after midnight.
- Saturday
- Rain, mainly after 7am.
- High near 54. North wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
- Chance of precipitation is 90%.
- New precipitation amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.
- Saturday Night
- Rain likely.
- Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46.
- Chance of precipitation is 70%.
- New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
- Sunday
- Rain likely before 7am.
- Mostly sunny, with a high near 63.
- Chance of precipitation is 60%.
- New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
