Due to the impending snow storm that will have blizzard like conditions, many communities in the Quad City area are issuing snow emergencies to help with cleaning up streets after during the storm and when it is over.

In case you haven't heard, a winter storm is on its way to the Quad Cites and it's going to be a nasty one. We could see up to 4" in some areas but that's not the worst part. Wind speeds will get up to 40 mph causing blizzard like conditions, including possible whiteouts.

Temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day to single digits by tonight, and with the wind speeds so high, we could see wind chill values well below zero. All of these factors has actually caused the National Weather Service to issue a Winter Storm Warning for majority of the Quad Cities and the surrounding area.

These are the communities in the listening area that have issue a snow emergency so far ahead of today's storm.
