Ricky Martin is engaged to his boyfriend, Jwan Yosef, and he shared his endearing proposal story (rife with awkward fumbling) during a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

Martin first detailed how he met his fiance, saying, "He’s a conceptual artist and I’m a collector. So I started looking for art and I saw his art and I went crazy, because I love what he does, really original, and I contacted him...and then I collected him!"

The "Vente Pa' Ca" singer then told Ellen he'd recently popped the question to Yosef, saying, "We just got engaged, I’m sweating. We’ve known each other for more than a year now. I proposed."

"I was really nervous," he continued, before launching into the proposal story, "but I got on my knees and I took out the little — not a box, I just had them in a little velvet pouch. And instead of saying, ‘Would you marry me?’ I said, ‘I got you something.’ Bad!"

But after some gentle prodding from his now-fiance, Martin mustered up the question.

"And then he was like, ‘Yes?’ and I said, ‘I want to spend my life with you,’" he continued. "And he was like, ‘What is the question?’ [And I said] ‘Would you marry me?’ It was very beautiful, and then like 30 minutes after I said, ‘Wait, did you say yes?’ Yes, he said yes."

Martin also revealed during the show that he’ll be headlining the Park Theater at Monte Carlo for a forthcoming Las Vegas residency, tickets for which go onside on Monday, according to E! News.
