Get Ready For Lane Closures on the Arsenal Bridge This Weekend
We're getting ready to enjoy a beautiful weekend in the QC but you'll want to plan your route carefully before you head across the river. Bridge washing on the Rock Island Arsenal Bridge will close it a few times this weekend and next.
According to a Facebook post from Rock Island Arsenal, tomorrow (June 4) & Sunday (June 5) on the Moline Bridge, there will be intermittent single lane closures from 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. This is because they're washing the bridge.
That's not the only closure to let you know about. Next weekend, the Government Bridge & Rock Island Viaduct will be closed to cars & pedestrians on June 11th from 6:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. for bridge washing too. If you forget about either of the closures, you'll see the signage up to direct traffic.
Truly, the Arsenal Bridge is my absolute least favorite bridge on the planet. Driving across that bridge stresses me out every time. It's so clunky. Basically now, if you need to cross the river this weekend or next, it's probably best to not use the Arsenal Bridge if you don't have to, since it will have closures in place for most of the day.
Don't forget there are other road construction closures you may bump up against in Davenport and Moline now and beginning next week. The River Drive work starts on Monday, June 6 in Moline, and the work on Division Street in Davenport began earlier this week. And of course, 53rd is still 53rd. Have to love consistency.
