Sofi De La Torre Is Killing Us Softly on ‘D.G.I.T.': Premiere
From wandering the shadowy streets of "London x Paris" to flipping off the dollars and dunces with "$," the effortlessly cool, always intriguing Sofi de la Torre continues to provide us with #PopDoneRight.
Ahead of the release of Sofi's forthcoming full-length LP Another. Not Me. I’m Done, due out this Friday (May 19), the Spanish singer returns with yet another selection from the upcoming collection: "D.G.I.T." ("Don't Get It Twisted"), a summery-yet-somber midtempo vibe crafted alongside longtime collaborator, Finnish producer Jonas Karlsson (Madeline Juno, Jake Miller).
With her latest, Sofi's admitting she screwed up at first and gave up on a good thing simply due to bad timing.
"You are the thing that I needed the most / I was just busy closing my fists, but that was the timing / I wasn't ready for you yet," she breathily admits.
Translation? It's not you, it's Sofi — but fear not: she can see clearly now.
"Don't get it twisted, though / Don't get it twisted / you are the best thing I ever kissed / And are the first thing / I knew I missed, yeah," Sofi wistfully assures over and over again across the warm pulsations.
"I actually wrote 'Don’t Get It Twisted' a day after I wrote 'Flex Your Way Out.' It was a song that made me feel good from the get go, such a chill vibe," Sofi tells us. "The demo production was totally different than it is now, but I think that feel good spirit remains. My summer jam for sure."
Listen to "D.G.I.T." below, and before you get it twisted, go ahead and get into Another. Not Me. I'm Done this Friday.
