Stressed? Chill Out and Stretch Out at QC’s YogaCon This Week
Whether or not you know what a chaturanga even is, you're invited to check out YogaCon, happening in Davenport this weekend.
YogaCon is March 4-6 at the RiverCenter in Downtown Davenport. There is a schedule for each day that includes teachers, speakers, and more. It kicks off on March 4 at 4:00 p.m. and will offer multiple events over the weekend, including ones that are geared towards helping those who are recovering from cancer and sessions focused on increasing LGBTQ+ representation in yoga.

The theme of YogaCon this year is Yoga Supporting Mental Health. The event is a big one for The Quad Cities Yoga Foundation. Indu Arora is the main headliner and has written three books involving the practice of yoga. Matt Taylor is the keynote speaker and has his doctorate degree in chronic pain. The convention will feature 12 yoga teachers from both Iowa and Illinois.
Here is the link to the Facebook event for YogaCon. According to the event description, the foundation says, "our non-profit has been working to support all Quad Citizens with yoga, supporting schools districts, jails, community centers, and more."
Even if you've never done yoga, or maybe you're kind of a yogi, or if you're an advanced practitioner, there's no skill level required to visit the convention. The only requirement is age-you must be 15 or older to go to YogaCon. Remember, like with any yoga class, you can stay in shavasana the whole time.
