The Dead Are Coming Back To Life In The Quad Cities This Weekend
Fans of spooks and ghosts alike, this weekend is for you!
This Saturday, Riverside Cemetery is hosting their annual "Echoes from Riverside" walk through the graveyard. This year, the theme is “Unfortunate Endings.” Throughout the night, seven actors will dress as people buried in the cemetery who were killed in "unfortunate" (read: gruesome) ways.
For example, attendees will hear the story of Rosa Nelson, a 15-year-old who died in 1909 after being decapitated in an elevator accident at Abraham Candy Company in Moline. She'll be played by 12-year-old Elly Huhn. The actors will tell the story of that person’s life and death while standing next to their grave.
I love the concept of this idea, but I myself will be staying far far away. I don't do creepy murder-y things that well. But for those who love to experience hauntings and dark tales, this is the absolute perfect way to kick off the spooky season.
