The First “Living Robot” Has Been Created

It seems as though the unthinkable has happened. Scientists have created what they claim are the first ”living robots“: This could be an entirely new life-forms created out of living cells.

A simple explanation for this is that a team of researchers have taken cells from frog embryos and turned them into a machine that can be programmed to work as they wish. You may be asking what this could be used for. The scientist had this to say.

Joshua Bongard who co-led the new research said "These are novel living machines. They’re neither a traditional robot nor a known species of animal. It’s a new class of artifact: a living, programmable organism.”

According to Independent this could be used for medical reasons or to clean up the earth. And that there are multiplier other great uses for living robots, but others are not as sure about the greatness of this new founding.

People Like Elon Musk have warned about how far we go with machines and AI. He and many others fear the if we go to far with robots we could be creating a terrible future for ourselves. Its less of a "they destroy us." More of a they replace us."
