The New Hunger Games Prequel Has Mixed Reactions
Entertainment Weekly revealed an excerpt from Suzanne Collins' New Hunger Games book, which will be featuring Coriolanus Snow as the protagonist. This has fans freaking out. Many upset that the main antagonist from the three original books is now a protagonist in the prequel.
The book will be called "The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes" Here the known evil leader called president snow will be a teen who is "a far cry from the man we know he will become." Apparently he will be friendly and charming in this book, which we do sometimes get a glimpse of in the original three books.
With so many amazing characters from this series many fans were upset to see this character get a book made about him. Twitter is currently in a battle over their feelings about this.
A lot of people were hoping for a story about the fan favorite Finnick who became a beloved character, and one of my favorites after his first appearance in the second book "Catching Fire."
Some fans started throwing serious shade at this new book, but with a wave of hate comes people who will defend the idea.
The book was released in 2008, and became incredibly popular around 2011 when I was in middle school. The first movie came out in 2013, my 8th grade year, I was in the age group that was a target for this series. I would take the quizzes to see what character I was. I even went to opening night of every movie. That being said, I have to agree with the ladder of these tweets. Fans are hating on a book before it even comes out.
Personal I feel as though an Author and or content creator of any kind should be free to make what they want. So many fans almost become spoiled and start getting mad when what they want isn't what the creator of the original world the fans feel in love with wanted. That being said it's always a good thing for creators to listen to their fans in one way or another. For now lets just see how the book turns out before we get upset.
