TSA Has Now Banned These Hair Styling Products For Illinois And Iowa Travelers
Some plane beauty regimens are about to be thrown out the window seat.
It's always been so entertaining to watch these influencers do their plane beauty routines that mostly consist of weird non-effective face stuff and wrapping their hair in silk curling cords so they look like a beauty with a blowout by the time the plane lands.
Not real life.
If you're planning on traveling for Labor Day weekend or for the holidays, there's a new rule from TSA on hair products you're not allowed to pack in even your checked bag.
TSA's New Rules
The TSA recently expanded their list of things you can't bring with you in a checked bag. And several of them are hairstyling tools:
- Cordless curling irons or flat irons that contain gas cartridges
- Butane-filled curling irons or flat irons
- Gas refills/spare cartridges for curling or flat irons
But you can still bring a traditional curling iron that plugs into a wall in either your carry-on or your checked bag. Curling irons that contain "hydrocarbon gas such as butane" are allowed only in your carry-on baggage.
You're good to still use the silk heatless curling sets if you were influenced into those for plane travel. And remember any gel-filled items you use for your hair or 'face shed' can't go over TSA's liquids rule.
But some good news: remember too that you don't have to take your shoes off anymore at many TSA checkpoints, as that rule was done away with earlier this summer.
