Weird Science: Yes, Looking At The Sun Can Help You Sneeze
You know that feeling when a sneeze is coming, and you're ready for it and then...it just doesn't happen? It's the worst.
It happened to me today while we were out giving away Marvel Universe Live! tickets over at Subway. I made a point to pause my conversation so I could sneeze, and then it never came. But according to our trusty intern, I should just look at the sun.
Yes, look directly at the sun. I thought maybe she wasn't so trusty of an intern but as it turns out, she's right! About 25% of all people sneeze when they look at the sun (or other bright light).
No one an really explain why exactly this happens, but the theory is that neurotransmitters get crossed and go to the wrong place, telling your body you need to sneeze. Apparently it's hereditary too!
