Why Do We Celebrate Cinco De Mayo? [VIDEO]

Cinco de Mayo has always been a mystery to me.

Don't get me wrong, I have no problem justifying the consumption of copious amounts of alcohol and Mexican food...but who REALLY knows why Cinco de Mayo is such a big deal in America?? 

The common misconception about Cinco de Mayo is that it celebrates Mexico's independence. Well...IT DOESN'T. It actually commemorates the victory of the Battle of Puebla.

And most real Mexicans don't celebrate at all. It's pretty much an American thing.
