Will Iowa Lose It’s Chili’s Locations In 2024?
Rumors are swirling around Chili's as they continue to close restaurants around America.
Chili's has several locations in Iowa. Chili's, their apps, their spicy margs, and overall vibe are a staple of dining-out culture in the Midwest and suburbia and have been for years. You know it's true, don't @ me.
MSN says that Chili's is closing several locations across the country this year, continuing the same trend from last year.
So far in 2024, Chili's has closed their locations in Fort Wayne, Indiana, St. Joseph, Missouri, and Charlotte, North Carolina. Chili's parent company Brinker International said this was because the locations were "performing below our standards and were near or at the expiration of their lease terms".
Last year, Chili's closed 16 locations, including ones in Tennessee, Virginia, and California.
Will Iowa Chili's Be Next To Close?
If we ever lose all Chili's in Iowa, we must have a spicy margarita funeral. But as of now, it doesn't look like Iowa Chili's locations are on the chopping block right now.
But that could definitely change quickly, based on the location's performance and their lease situation. Several Chili's locations have closed with no notice before. I would hope they wouldn't leave all of Iowa without a Chili's but who knows?
But for now, Ankeny, Cedar Rapids, Davenport, Clive, Coralville, and Sioux City all have our Chili's. But if you want the TikTok-famous mozz sticks, it's probably not a bad idea to get them sooner rather than later.
