It's time for Winter Nights, Winter Lights at the Quad City Botanical Center, Rock Island. The display with over 130,000 lights opens Thursday with a Winter Nights A 'Light Preview Party from 6-8 pm.

The event will be outside so we can all celebrate and stay socially distanced. You'll need to RSVP for the preview party. It's $35 for individuals and $50 per couple for a preview of the event and a cash bar.

The display will be open 4-9 pm everyday through Jan. 10 including Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve and the evening of New Year's Day.

Buy your tickets online for timed entrances every 30 minutes. They will require masks indoors and outside.

Cost for the event after the preview party is $8 for adults $4 for youth 2-15. Botanical Center members get a $2 discount.

According to the QC Times, there are special date night, painting and Nest Cafe soup nights. Get details on those events here.

I always look forward to seeing all the lights. It's been a tradition with my grand daughter for the past three years.
