The NWS of the Quad Cities says that this storm could bring accumulating snow/freezing rain for Thursday, with several inches of snow currently possible.

Wind speeds are expected to increase throughout the day into the afternoon/evening on Thursday that could lead to blowing snow, along with any water flash freezing on surfaces.

The NWS in Des Moines is predicting that the Quad Cities have a 57% chance of seeing 1" or more of snow accumulation throughout the day on Thursday. As Thursday progresses, temperatures are expected to drop which could cause that flash freezing, blowing snow, and blizzard-like conditions.
