Grocery shopping is a must because we need food at home. But we know groceries have gotten more and more expensive. To save money and have groceries in the home, sometimes we have to turn to America's least favorite grocery store with plenty of locations in Iowa.

Recently, an interesting article from Newsbreak reveals that a new annual survey finds our satisfaction with our local grocery stores is now at the highest it’s been in six years, thanks in part to “better sales and promotions.” That includes America's least favorite grocery store.

While Walmart offers free grocery pickup and typically cheaper prices, the grocery store giant still doesn't sit well with shoppers. I'm not sure if people are still mad when the greeter asks for a receipt when you leave or the fact that you mainly have to do self-checkout nowadays, but Walmart isn't most people's first pick.

Why Is Walmart America's Least Favorite Grocery Store?

The American Customer Satisfaction Index found that shoppers across America named Walmart their least favorite place to shop for groceries, according to the same Newsbreak article.

The article stated the following:

"Walmart finds itself at the bottom of the ACSI list, for an astonishing nineteenth year in a row. But it’s not all bad news – Walmart has shown some improvement, as its rating is up four points from last year, for its strongest showing since 2020. But Walmart was dead last back then, too. With every other retailer rising in the rankings, even an improved Walmart apparently isn’t good enough."

Walmart's score was 74. For comparison, America's favorite grocery stores, Costco, H-E-B, and Publix, tied for first with a score of 85.

Plenty of Walmart Stores in Iowa

It seems like everywhere you go in Iowa you'll run into a Walmart. They offer pretty decent prices on quality products. Plus, why not grocery shop while getting a haircut, your oil changes, three new outfits, and a new cellphone plan?

Walmart stores being all over the place is never a bad thing. It helps to know you're close to a store in case you need something quick.
