You're going to want to Be Downtown in Bettendorf this Saturday. You'll want to be there especially if bands, bags, bites, beverages, and having a blast are some of the things you like. And who doesn't like that?!

Once again, the Downtown Bettendorf Organization is hosting its Be Downtown event for a full day of fun and celebrating Bettendorf's downtown area. This is a family-friendly event with prizes to win, and fun to enjoy, and getting in won't cost you a dime. You'll just need to bring a chair to sit.

Bettendorf Wants You To Be Downtown

The Downtown Bettendorf Organization invites everyone to celebrate the Premier City and everything its downtown area has to offer with their fun event, Be Downtown.

Be Downtown is a free outdoor event taking place on Saturday, June 1st, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at the 15th St. Landing (15th St. and State St.).This family-friendly event will feature live music, food trucks, two-bag tournaments with cash prizes, children’s activities, and more.

The only thing you need to bring to Be Downtown is your own lawn chair. Otherwise, just bring your friends and family.

Be Downtown will feature two separate bags tournaments at noon and 3 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for first place ($300), second ($200), and third place ($100). There is no cost to enter. Check-in for each tournament is one hour prior to its start to join in on the fun.

Be Downtown Will Have Lots Of Live Music

Beginning at Noon, live music will be provided in two-hour sets throughout the day by QC rock bands:

• BTDT
• Heads in Motion
• Threat Level Midnight

Get ready to sing along! Be Downtown coincides with the City of Bettendorf’s 121st birthday. There will be giveaways and a special appearance from Mayor Bob Gallagher to lead everyone in singing “Happy Birthday” to Bettendorf. The City will have a fire truck, police squad cars, snow plows, and recycling trucks on display.

Family Fun, Food, Beverages, & WRESTLING At Be Downtown

Verde will offer food and an outdoor bar for alcohol and other beverage sales. Food trucks will serve food from Noon to 6 p.m. including:

• Smokin' Goodness
• Wolfe It Down Pizza

Bring the whole family down because the K&K Family Fun Zone will run from Noon to 6 p.m. and have bounce houses, bubble stations, and a hands-on science station by Absolute Science.

New this year is Honor Among Wrestling (HAW) pro wrestling beginning at 2:05 p.m.

Parking for the event includes on-street parking on State and Grant Streets plus at multiple lots in downtown Bettendorf, including:

• 15th St. and Grant St. (TBK Bank building lot) available after 1 p.m.
• 18^th St. and Mississippi St. (Asbury Methodist Church lot)
• 18th St. and Grant St. (City of Bettendorf lot)
• Bettendorf City Hall
• Street parking
• Motorcycle parking on 15^th St. will be available
