B100 and Plato's Closet are teaming up to remind Quad Citizens to be kind!

Bullies come in many different forms that parents, teachers and students need to be aware of.  Bullying is when someone hurts or scares another person repeatedly.  Bullying happens in our schools, parks and online with Cyberbullying.  The fastest growing type of bullying is online when a person is picked on or threatened through the use of social media or cell phones.  Bullying from afar can make it harder to see the pain it causes.

One out of every five kids is being bullied every day.  Bullying can make students afraid to go to school and can leave lasting impressions including low self-esteem and depression.

Bullies don't always realize that they are bullying someone else.  Picking on or teasing your friends can be especially hurtful!  If you think you may have hurt someone's feelings, the best thing to do is apologize, and to not repeat that behavior again.

Being kind is a choice that we all can make each and every day.  It's a habit that is easy to build and totally contagious.  Everyone deserves to be treated with kindness and understanding.  Treat others how you would like to be treated.  How we treat our friends and neighbors makes a huge difference in how they feel.

You can make a difference!  If you or someone you know is being bullied, find a trusted adult at home or school.  Everything you do has an impact on the people around you. Be Kind, with B100 and Plato's Closet.
