Bettendorf Schools Looking at Next Year’s Schedule

Moms and dads, would you rather your kids get a full week off at Thanksgiving? Or a four day weekend in October and a traditional long Thanksgiving weekend? That's what the Bettendorf  Community School District is trying to figure out.

The Quad City Times says the the school board is considering both options and surveying folks including staff and faculty. As a kid I definitely would have voted for the full week at Thanksgiving. There never seemed to be enough time for backyard football and hanging with the buddies before we were back in class.

One date is set. The first day of school. That's August 23rd.
