For those of you looking forward to Iowa playing in the Big Ten tournament today more bad news due to coronavirus.

The Big Ten, SEC, Big 12, ACC, Pac 12 and AAC have canceled their conference tournaments, the leagues announced.  In all, 13 conferences have cancelled their tournaments.

Initially the Big Ten had said they would continue to play the games but they would be limited to student-athletes, coaches, event staff, essential team and Conference staff, TV network partners, credentialed media, and immediate family members of the participating teams.

From University of Iowa AD Gary Barta, “We are in full support of Commissioner Kevin Warren and Big Ten Conference presidents and administrators in cancelling the Big Ten men’s basketball tournament. This is a fluid situation that is new to all of us. We will continue to monitor information through the Big Ten Conference and NCAA and move forward accordingly.”

The NCAA tournament is still scheduled to take place without fans in attendance.
