As much as I love all the specials that happen on Black Friday, I also know I can get the same deals leading up to Black Friday and for sure the week of Christmas. By then stores will be in their final push to bolster their holiday sales numbers. It's bad enough that in a recent poll 39% of American's think Black Friday should be a National Holiday. Consumer Reports says that this year 47% of Americans, up from 44% last year, will shop at sometime on Black Friday.

To me I don't need that 50 inch tv so bad that I'm knocking over some nice lady with a Starbucks in her hand. Here's what a perfect Black Friday looks like to me.

1. Wake up and have some Thanksgiving leftovers.

2. Check the schedule of college football games to make sure my DVR is set.

3. Pull the Christmas boxes out of storage so we can set up the the tree after the Iowa game is done.

4. Watch the Iowa Hawkeye's beat Nebraska while eating more leftovers from Thanksgiving.

5. Set up the Christmas tree while we jam Charlie Brown Christmas songs.

6. Eat some leftover pie while I check some football scores.

7. By now it's dinner time so the girls and I will go out to get some dinner and then hit the mall for some shopping. Technically it's still Black Friday but I'm not fighting anyone over the candle my wife likes from the Bath and Body Works. Grab a Starbucks and then go home jamming out to more Christmas music.

8. Watch more football while I also finish any pie in the fridge.

By this point my day is complete and I'll be ready for bed. Or for some late night football on the DVR.
