There's was lots of art to be appreciated in the Quad Cities this weekend! Along with the opening of the weekly Rock Island Artists Market, Downtown Bettendorf brought the return of Chalk Art Fest.

I was able to make it out to the latter, and it was an absolute blast. Within feet of the entrance, you start seeing the work of incredible local artists. Among those artists was Rachel, one of the newest B100 street team members.

In case you missed it:

Also near the entrance was the community chalk piece, where everyone could make a contribution. The inspiration? One who lives in a pineapple under the sea.

For a small donation, Chalk Fest would provide the chalk needed to draw out and fill in an image of the entire Spongebob Squarepants gang. Of course, I couldn't pass that up. So, with a little help from a friend, Mr. Krabs was given the best dang chalk claw you ever did see:

Still, the best art came from the contestants. Check out all of the pieces here!
