It's a good thing I took this week off - I don't even know where the weekend went!

Similar to birthdays, I now feel like Christmas lasts all month long.

Friday night started out with the first time all season long that I could bust out my ugly Christmas sweater (which I love to showcase). We went to our friend's house to enjoy some festive beverages and music before going out downtown all clad for Christmas.

Saturday came bright and early and made me regret staying out until bar close the night before, but there was no time to dwell. Into the shower I went to get ready for my boyfriend's family Christmas. We began the festivities with a mix six party.

I had never heard of mix six either so here's the spark notes version:

Each couple brings a six pack of assorted beers and wraps them before the party. Then, at the house, you stick them in the fridge (along with everyone else's beers) and throughout the day, when you're needing a new drink, you unwrap someone else's beer and whatever you get, you drink. Switches are allowed :)

I got to try some good beers with the mix six. I swapped my first darker ale for a sour ale - which was amazing. My second one was a Ben & Jerry's salted caramel brownie ale which was as delicious as it sounds, and my third wasn't all that memorable. It's either that or the first two beers were already getting to me. Totally plausible.

We then exchanged gifts and I was so excited with all of the ones I received. Kevin would be proud because I got some Bath & Body Works stuff, nail polish, candles galore (you can never have enough) and they even hit the bullseye with the clothes. One in particular that stood out was my "Wine Down For What" shirt (see gallery for our photoshoot). I'll be living in that until further notice.

Sunday was when we made the trek back to the QC and had his extended family Christmas in Bettendorf. All weekend was full of food, drinks and family. Couldn't have asked for anything more!
